RESIDENTS in Bradford on Avon have one more week to get their responses in as part of a seven-week consultation looking at traffic in the town and nearby villages.

Hundreds of people have responded already, after 6,000 leaflets were distributed last month, and more are encouraged to come forward before the deadline of October 24.

On October 29, community groups, technical experts and councillors will prepare the agenda for a two-day workshop that will be held in mid-November to look at the impact of vehicles on pedestrians and other road users, on air quality, and the general environment of the area.

Consultation and workshop organiser Gerald Milward-Oliver said people from across the town and villages had been quick to send in their thoughts.

“This is an issue that we’re all concerned about. And we all have our own ideas about what should be done,” he said.

“Thanks to this consultation, we’re getting a wide cross-section of viewpoints, from some of the oldest and the youngest residents.

“It remains our hope that, by the year end, we will have an agreed plan of future actions that will set the pattern for decades to come.”
